Introduction


The Teleki Blanka Dormitory is the dormitory of the Gyula Juhász Teacher Faculty of Education of the University of Szeged. It started operating in 1963.

The building is located in the heart of the city, within arm's reach of the college's main building, the József Attila Study and Information Center (University Library) and university entertainment venues. The location of the institution is advantageous, as public transportation, grocery stores, restaurants, and photocopiers can be reached within a few minutes' walk. It can be reached from the railway station with tram lines 1 and 2, from Mars tér (bus station) again with trams 1 and 2 and buses 74 and 20, as well as trolleybuses 8 and 1.



The structure of the dormitory


Our dormitory has five floors and can accommodate 400 people. The rooms consist of two four-bed bedrooms with washrooms and a common study area equipped with a refrigerator and desks. The social rooms, toilets, showers and kitchens equipped with microwave ovens and stoves are located in the corridors. In addition to the living rooms, guest rooms are available on all levels for correspondents as well as visiting guest students, lecturers and excursion groups.

The building has an elevator and three accessible rooms for students with reduced mobility. Pursuant to the law on the protection of non-smokers, smoking is FORBIDDEN in the entire area of ​​the dormitory building, as well as in the area within 5 meters of the main entrance.


The institution has several rooms for community programs, two large lounges and a room suitable for watching movies in the evening, a drawing room, a piano room and a computer room.

There are also opportunities for sports, you can find a ping-pong table, foosball, and a fitness room in the building.


In order to ensure the safety of the students, there is a 24-hour front desk service and an access control system. The dormitory provides students with wireless internet access, and it is also possible to use wired internet for a fee. During the academic year, many sports and cultural events await the residents here, which are organized by the Dormitory Committee. The members of the committee are elected by the students. In addition to our traditionally held annual events such as Freshmen Day, Teleki Christmas, Teleki Day, Graduation, Sports Day, and besides these main events we continually work on our list of activities according to the needs of the students.
